Priests Residence Expansion - For aging priests, retirement often begins the challenge of where to set down roots for the final phase of their lives. While some priests have the option of returning to their families, many go on to live independently in a private residence or move into church-owned facilities, often in less that suitable conditions. There is an urgent need to provide the adequate, appropriate housing and services for these men who have spent their lives serving Christ, the Church, and the people of God. Therefore, the New York Catholic Foundation has committed to helping to underwrite the expansion of the existing Residence with a handicapped-accessible facility that is able to provide for those who are less mobile in their retired years.
